4 Things To Do While Social Distancing That is Not Tik Tok

To prevent the spread of COVID 19, public health officials agree that social distancing is our best bet.

The first 3 weeks of my lockdown has mostly been a bit of work, binge watching, reading the news (dare I say I am too informed now), staring at the wall thinking about all the things I could be doing and getting more excited than ever for my grocery store run.

Needless to say, I need to find something else to do with my time. Now is the time to get a bit creative. Here are a 4 things to do to occupy your time cooped up in the house that is not Tik Tok:

    1. Visit a Museum - How sway? Check to see if your favorite museum is offering virtual tours. Grab a glass of wine and take in all the culture from your couch. Check out Google Arts & Culture for a collection of walk-throughs. I just toured the Eifel Tower in my underwear.
    2. Learn a New Language - I have decided to expand my Spanish. I really should be able to do more than just order food in Spanish by now.
    3. Cook a Lot of Food - You have time for the prep work or the time consuming desert dish you've been wanting to try. Now more than ever, we need to fuel our bodies with good colorful food. Don't know what to make? Add all your ingredients on recipe generator site like Supercook (also a mobile app) and watch recipes appear.
    4. Take an Online Course - I found a cool site called Coursea that allows you to take online courses for free. They have classes ranging from business analytics to a course about how to live a happy life.

Our attitudes towards social distancing will make or break our experience. I choose to have a positive attitude. I am hopeful things will get back to normal sometime soon but also welcoming a new normal if need be. I would be lying if I didn't have days during this "lockdown" where I am super discouraged or just like "what the hell is going on?!?" This is all like a crazy movie, I know, but it's also a story for us to tell later. We will survive this and learn some things in the process.

                                                                                                 Krystal
